Gambling is meant to be entertainment. It works when the money stays inside what you can comfortably afford to lose and when the time it takes does not start crowding out the other parts of your life. We have built a stack of tools directly into the account so you can keep play inside those boundaries without thinking about it twice. None of these tools are buried in a menu and none of them require you to call support. You can set every limit in your account in under a minute.
What limits can I set on my account?
Open the account dropdown, choose Safer Gambling and you will see the full menu. Deposit limits cap the cash you can move into the account on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Loss limits cap the net loss across all products over the same windows. Wager limits cap the total amount staked, which is useful if you tend to recycle winnings rather than withdraw them. Session limits prompt a hard logout after a set number of minutes of active play.
Reducing a limit takes effect immediately. Increasing a limit takes effect after a twenty four hour cooling off period, which gives you space to think about whether the change is one you actually want. Reality checks pop up at thirty, sixty or ninety minute intervals depending on what you set, and they show you your net position for the session before letting you continue. None of these tools cost you anything and all of them can be combined.
Deposit limits
Daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much you can move into the account. Reductions are instant.
Loss limits
Cap net losses across all products. Useful if you find yourself chasing a session that went south.
Session limits
Hard logout after a set number of minutes. The login the next time around prompts a reality check.
Timeouts
Lock the account for twenty four hours, forty eight hours, one week or one month with one tap.
How does self exclusion work at Highbet?
Self exclusion is a longer term option than a timeout. You can self exclude for six months, twelve months, two years or five years. Once activated the account is locked, the marketing email list and SMS list both flush your address immediately, and you cannot reopen the account until the exclusion period has expired. There is no way for support or a VIP host to override an active self exclusion early, which is the whole point of the tool.
When the exclusion ends, the account does not reopen automatically. You have to actively contact support and confirm you want to come back, and the request goes through a safer gambling review before the lock is lifted. Many players use the period of self exclusion to step back entirely, and we make no effort to chase you to return. There is no win back marketing pointed at self excluded players, full stop.

How do I know if I should be worried about my play?
Most people who gamble do so within their means and never run into trouble. A small minority do. The questions worth checking in with yourself on are simple. Is the money going past what you set aside for entertainment. Are you replaying the day in your head, planning the next session, choosing gambling over things you used to enjoy. Are you hiding the activity from people close to you. Are you chasing losses with bigger stakes hoping a single result will turn things around.
If any of those rang true, the GamCare self assessment at gamcare.org.uk takes about three minutes and gives you a clear, evidence based read on whether your play is healthy. The result is private and you can act on it any way you choose. The Responsible Gambling Council at rgc.ca lists Canadian counselling services that offer free or subsidised sessions, and GameSense tools are available in most provinces through provincial gaming corporations.
Does Highbet block underage and at risk accounts?
Every account on the platform requires age verification before a cashout is processed and on a risk based basis at deposit. We use document verification combined with database checks, and the system flags any inconsistency for manual review. Accounts that fail age verification are closed and any deposits refunded to the original source.
Behavioural monitoring runs in the background on every active account. The system watches for signs of harm such as sharp increases in stake, late night sessions following heavy losses, multiple failed deposits and panic withdrawal then redeposit patterns. When flags trigger, the safer gambling team intervenes directly with the player. That intervention is supportive rather than punitive, and almost always starts with a conversation about limits or a suggested timeout rather than an account closure.
